COMMEMORATING OUR NAME
This weekend, the Seventh-day Adventist Church marks 150 years (1st Oct. 2010) of the denomination's name. Leaders are urging members to reflect both on the significance of our denominational name and the impact we've made in our local community.
"It was in 1860 that pioneers meeting in Battle Creek, Michigan chose the name for a movement that had about 2,500 adherents in North-eastern United States and south-eastern Canada. Today, that movement has more than 16 million adult baptized members and operates the largest Protestant network of schools and hospitals worldwide (ANN, 2010)."
For more information on the 150th anniversary of our name, go to http://www.150sda.org

We now have a church website, thank God for that.
Please DONT JUDGE IT YET!! It is very much work in progress and is still in the early design stages; however, we might as well start using it as our one-stop-shop for all church information and communication.
The front page in particular may change once we agree on the design. As soon as we complete it, we will seek your thoughts/feedback formally but in the meantime, please feel free to contact me or JR with suggestions on what you (or visitors) will wish to see on our website.
All key departments (Youth, Pathfinders, Women's ministries, Personal Ministries, etc.) should now start developing/writing brief content for their sections and forward that to me. The focus in all content will be NOT how great our church is but rather to inform readers on how a visit to our church will help them and their unchurched friends take their next steps toward Christ.
