Shoe Box Appeal
Here is your perfect opportunity to do something that will put a smile on the children of Niger, West Africa, this festive season. Prepare and submit a secured shoebox or shoeboxes, containing School supplies (like pens, pencils, notebooks etc.) and a Personal Hygiene kit (box soap, washcloths, toothbrush, toothpaste and flip-flops). Please do not to pack any food items, sweets or anything that will melt e.g. crayons or chocolate! Any kind of small toy is fine, but secondary but must not include batteries. This year, Sisters in Service (SIS) are providing a free service for those who need help with their shoeboxes. Simply make a financial donation of your discretion and the SIS team will buy the supplies and pack the shoeboxes on your behalf. Please contact Girlie Mae Andrada, SIS Leader for further details. So, there is no excuse for not participating in this year's shoebox appeal.
The Absolute Deadline for receiving all boxes at Newcastle church is Sartuday 6th November. We need to take them to Middlesborough, our nearest collection centre, where they will be collect by the North England Conference on Sunday 7th November. |
